I found that it was combusting the herb and worked more as an electronic pipe. However when I put less herb into the chamber and hit it slowly it worked much better. I also don't hold the button down for very long, that way it doesn't get too hot. I found the herb looked vaporized and wasn't just ash. I am pleased with the product, although it can be tedious refilling and stirring your herb.
